I have been using a weekly planner since 2011; I allot on each week different sections for different tasks. Recently, it has been mostly UNIVERSITY, but also, I have DAILY (walking, stretching) & WEEKLY (personal finances, budgets) tasks. I can see what I need to do each day with ease.
The most important section to me called ‘CBT’ (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). Here I add thoughts, feelings, or behaviours I wish to reflect on; how can I improve, feel better, and learn from situations. It has greatly helped me over the years to improve the quality of my life.
I have several documents on my memory stick called ‘What Works Well’ with titles including ‘Mindset’ and ‘Library’. I add to these documents to improve my time management and organisation skills.
My planner also helps with prioritising tasks whereby I always do the most important one first to ensure I’m ahead of my tight university deadlines.
I have a motto that I like to use ‘a little every day goes a long way’ which really helps to put things in perspective when it comes to doing personal study. I try and see the task in front of me as something that is not huge, but something that is completed bit by bit.
Using time management and organisation skills has helped me with my university coursework to ensure I’ve never missed a deadline.
